It’s all about water action.
The last time was in 1977. This week on 22-24th March 2023, the United Nations organize this generation’s UN Water Conference in New York with the goal of a bold Water Action Agenda. There’s no doubt that we are facing a water crisis. And as water and climate are inextricably linked, the future calls for water action.
While high-level discussions are important for the path towards access to clean water for everyone, it’s difficult to understand what these pledges will mean for any one of us. Islands and coastal regions are still too often overlooked due to their smaller size and voices.
Now more than ever, it’s about water deeds. We are proud to steadily continue our impact by making water available from the sea and sun for islands and coastal regions globally. Please enjoy our latest update.
There are many island resorts, industries and private properties that utilize our technology to save on water expenses and ensure their water availability. We have asked a couple of our recent clients for their experience:
The first one is a resort in Kenya which has switched its water supply to a state-of-the-art efficient desalination plant of Elemental Water Makers that uses 70% less electricity, does not require chemicals in its operation and ensures the brine concentration is limited to avoid any negative impact. By doing so, they have taken another big step in ensuring their guest leave no footprint while enjoying the natural beauty of the region.
“Elemental Waters has proven to be a reliable and professional partner since we contacted them. The installation was completed to the highest standards and we now benefit from a production of over 1,700 litres per hour of drinkable water. The system is energy efficient and it is hassle-free. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone in need of a desalination system.
The second one is an island resort in Belize. Many of the islands and cayes have limited fresh water resources. At the same time, the local water infrastructure can be expensive, unreliable and with limited quality. In some cases, the water is hailed by trucks or boats, which is costly and noisy exercise.
“Elemental Water Makers was a very concise, professional company to work with. Right from the initial contact through to the final install it was a very professional and courteous transaction. The system is very compact, efficient, yet very easy to operate as well as troubleshoot.
The installation crew were very considerate, professional and knowledgeable, adapting to slight changes and coming up with solutions to problems was a non-issue. All in all, it is a great system for our island project, and would recommend them to anyone looking for clean, desalinated water.”
Also in harder-to-reach places such as Yemen, Madagascar and Somalia we are making water. This is often in close cooperation with NGOs for communities that lack access to clean water. We already serve over 100,000 people with water from the sea and sun. Our ambition is to move towards 10 million.
As water action continues to be needed, we invite you to join us in solving water scarcity, using only the sea and sun. Contact us today with your project idea or requirement.
On March 23rd, it’s World Water Day. This year is about accelerating change to solve the water and sanitation crisis. And because water affects us all, we need everyone to take action.
We have sent several Elemental Water Response (EWR) to Jordan to safeguard a clean water supply in case of shortages. These portable units are able to produce 50 liters per hour each and run on the sun alone.
Ever wondered how a solar desalination solution painted by the famous Dutch painter Van Gogh would look like? So did we. Fortunately, AI software DALL-E 2 can help our imagination a little.
