As any place on the Bahamas, access to clean water is a huge challenge. Desalination is the main solution, accounting for 90% of the water supply in the Bahamas. However, desalination is energy-intensive and electricity is expensive in the Bahamas. This is one of the reasons why Little Harbour went for a desalination solution that uses 70% less electricity, as well as does not require any chemicals for operation and maintenance.
