Expanding Resort water supply using Efficient Desalination.
All coastal resorts on the Virgin Islands are quite used to desalination. Unfortunately, often traditional desalination is being utilized, leading to unnecessarily high energy bills of the reverse osmosis unit.
By utilizing energy recovery technology on any scale between 1,000 – 250,000 gallons per day, energy savings up to 70% can be made. With energy prices soaring as high as 0.3 $/kWh and traditional seawater desalination using around 30 kWh/kgal, it’s possible to save 6 $ per 1,000 gallons alone on energy.
